Road to SenMonorom

Here are some picture of the road that used to go to SenMonorom.  As you can see it was very difficult to travel to SenMonorom.  Now the road is all paved.

Mondulkiri Province

Most of the provinces in the Kingdom of Cambodia, during the rainy season between May and October, the flat landscapes and rice fields of Cambodia are green and ripen, but in Mondulkiri, in the northeast of the country, this green is almost all year round, brightening sprawling hills, grassy field and forestry. Viewed from any angle the emerald grassy knolls appear like a neatly clipped golf course. The wind moves the grass in waves like the sea and clouds whisk by above. Many have compared the province's green landscapes and weather to the scenery of New Zealand or Australia. If you plan to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, make Mondulkiri your first choice. Provincial capital Senmonorom has opened its first 100-room luxury-class hotel. From your suite at Mondulkiri hotel take in the views of the country's biggest, and greenest ' natural golf course'. Mondulkiri is bordered with Ratanakiri and Stung Treng to the north, Kratie province in the west and Vietnam to the south and east. Its covers an area of 14,288 k.m2. There are 4 districts, 17 communes, and 90 villages, and 1 city which 4-Sangkat. There are 60,811 people. 80 percent are ethnic minorities.

Monorom Waterfall

Monorom (or Damnak Sdach) waterfall is located in Chrey Sen village, Monorom commune, Senmonorom City, about 5km from the downtown and access by car. This area is a historical location which King Norodom Sihanouk built his residence during in 1960s because of its surrounding potential and beautiful landscape, clean waterfall, fresh-air including forestry and logging. Today the former King’s Residence was destroyed during the war time, it only remains some ground floor. Monorom or Damnak Sdach Waterfall is a potential tourism because it located close to the downtown and many people would like to visit during their holiday and especially at the weekend.

Chrey Tom Waterfall

Chrey Thom is referred to a type of tree commonly found in illustration of the meditating Buddha. However, this majestic waterfall bearing the name ‘’ Chrey Thom” mean “big Chrey tree”. The waterfall is surrounded by rich abundance of Sra-lav vegetation and one mighty Crey tree. The provincial Tourism office, in cooperation with local authority, has preserved this waterfall as the tourist site during the favorable season as Boo Sra waterfall .It is difficult to trip at the time of raining season. Chrey Thom waterfall is located in Senmonorom district about 20 km in distance from the province town. During the dry season, the waterfall reaches 30 meters in height and 5m-10m in diameter, while during the rainy season, the waterfall spans up to nearly 30m in height and 10-20 m in diameter.

Phnom Prich Wildlife

 Phnom Prich wildlife Sanctuary is one of Cambodia's natural wonders. Located in the northwestern Mondulkiri province, the area has been charming tourists with its picturesque forests and tranquil surrounding. It's also a haven for a wide range of wildlife, including some endangered species. Phnom Prich contains range of mountains, a mix of forests and lowlands. This is interspersed with prairies, ponds, and water channels. It provides ideal shelter for large mammals such as elephants, bantengs, gaurs, tigers, wild buffalos, as well as bears, bovid and other smaller carnivores, primates and birds. It has an area of 222,500 hectares, covering three districts- Keo Sima, Koh Nhek, and Pichrada. The park lays 30 km north-west of the provincial town, on national road 76.

Bou Sra Waterfall

Bou Sra Waterfall is one of the first choices tourists visit when touring the beautiful province of Mondulkiri. the waterfall has three difference levels in the same stream. The first level of waterfall is the most popular place to enjoy bathing and swimming. the diameter measures 10-20 meters depending on the season and about 8-15 meters in height. If you are stroll down 200 meters, you will find the second level measuring 13-20 meters in diameter, and around 15-25 meters high. The third level is hundreds of meters more nestled in the jungle and becomes very inaccessible. Bou Sra Waterfall is located on the eastern side of the provincial town about 15 minutes drive from Picchrada district, and about 38 km. from Senmonorom city of Mondulkiri Province.

O Tang Lang

The Or Toeng Loeng Waterfall is located in Mémang Commune, Keo Seima District; 30 km away from the provincial town. It can be accessed by path.

There are 465 families living in the Or Toeng Loeng area, whose main occupations are farming. Its main points of interest are a spectacular waterfall, dramatic mountainous forest, impressive undulating hills, and fresh air.

O' Tang Lang Waterfall
